Using group pages

A group page is a type of document. A page whose page name starts with “Group” and users can freely register.

Group pages are used for the following purposes:

  • Viewing documents registered by others
  • Updating the document
  • Writing new documents
  • Listing registered glyphs
  • creating and publishing fonts

These subsections describe documents other than group pages.

Viewing documents registered by others

Like glyphs, you can search for group pages created by others. The search box searches glyphs and documents at the same time. You can specify the page name of the document or the content of each page of the document as a search keyword.

Updating and creating documents

You can update already registered documents on the “Edit” tab.

To create a new group page, use “Group: (group name)” enclosed with half-width brackets.

Group pages are used with Latin characters, CJK characters (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), et cetera. However, they don't use spaces.

More info can be seen in GlyphWiki:EditingGlyphs.

Using personal group pages

Personal group pages can be created using a user name and an underscore.

The personal pages can only be edited by the corresponding user.

The GlyphWiki admin recommends you to do the following:

  • Correct: (user name)_(group name)
  • Incorrect: (user name)-(group name)

Make sure private content is placed in your user-occupied page.

About notes

Notes are provided for each document. This page asks questions and answers to the author when writing a document requires discussion. Make sure you're logged in so you can access the “User-talk” page by clicking the “My Talk” button.

Don't be emotional about participating in the discussions on the talk page. If you don't speak Japanese, you can use English, Chinese, Korean, etc.

To sign your description, simply input “--creator 2022年6月13日(月) 19:32” (two dashes and four tildes (make sure they're half-width)) so the speaker and time series are clear.
